Research projects at EBCL:
Foreign exploration, discovery, identification, and host range testing of biocontrol agents (insects, mites and fungal pathogens) for classical biological control of weeds. Dyer's woad (Isatis tinctoria - Brassicaceae), field bindweed (Convolvulus arvensis - Convolvulaceae), and canada thistle (Cirsiums arvense - Compositae).
Areas of scientific interest:
In addition to classical biological control (sensus strictu), I am interested in many scientific aspects (Taxonomy, ecology, and evolution) which allow us to better undestanding the agent under study. Also my interest is focussed to finding and developping new materials and methods for safely collecting in Eurpe and shipping to living biological material into the U.S.
Experience:
Over thirty years of classical biological control experience, studyng and introducing many agents on several weeds in the United States, and Canada.
Languages:
English, Italian and basic knowledges in French.
